We support research, development, and testing of aerospace systems. The range's more than 20,000 square miles of airspace include three supersonic corridors and four aircraft spin areas where our staff supports ground test facilities and flight testing for aircraft, including the F-22 Raptor and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, as well as for the RQ-4A Global Hawk Unmanned Combat Aerial System.
JT3 is responsible for new equipment integration and design/development of hardware and software solutions to support the range. The team supports a number of highly sophisticated training exercises that simulate battlefield simulations, including:
• Red Flag
• Green Flag
• The U.S. Air Force Weapons School
• Various joint exercises, such as the Joint Expeditionary Force Experiment
NTTR provides a real-world environment for air- and ground-based military activities, such as:
• Pilot and crew training
• Combat exercises
• Manned and unmanned aircraft and weapons systems testing
JT3's UTTR staff facilitates air-to-ground, air-to-air, and ground force exercises, as well as large-footprint weapons testing with telemetry, tracking, and mission support services.
The UTTR comprises the largest contiguous block of supersonic-restricted airspace in the continental U.S. It also houses engineering and management for a number of war fighters, including the F-16 Fighting Falcon and A-10 Thunderbolt II.
The JT3 staff at ECR supports the land-based testing for the U.S. Navy's Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). Working with aircraft like the F/A-18 Super Hornet and Growler, our crews specialize in electronic warfare support as well as ground-to-air and air-to-ground tactical development and testing. JT3 technicians and engineers also provide a variety of specialized spectral and signal-specific monitoring services for the land, air, and sea ranges of Navy Air Weapons Division at China Lake and Point Mugu.
